About

The Craters of the Moon Natural History Association (NHA) was established in 1959 by a concerned group of local citizens who wanted to make sure this special place in their backyard was protected. With the establishment of the nonprofit 501(3)(c) Association, the avenue was paved to begin providing financial assistance to the National Park Service for educational, interpretive, scientific, and cultural activities offered to the public.

The organizational structure of the NHA consists of eight volunteer board members, one full-time employee, and 4-5 seasonal employees. The NHA administers a retail bookstore at Craters of the Moon Visitor Center and this online store. The NHA is able to provide financial assistance through sales and membership dues.

Craters of the Moon Natural History Association Bookstore – Summer Season Open Monday-Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. Closed on federal holidays during the winter. The visitor center is located off U.S. Highway 20/26/93 mid-way between Arco and Carey, Idaho.
